Maniki is applying strict rules of models selection.
Adults models must reflect the following criterias.
Babies and infants must be charismatics and disciplined.
:: Physique ::
Women should be at least 5’9” tall, 34” bust… and men 6’1” tall for runways.
The ideal height for modeling is 5’11” to 6’2” for men and 5’8” to 5’11” for women.
For photography or advertising, height does not matter.
About proportions, men should have a good body figure… but the parameters have changed so much since the 80’s in photo and fashion world, that it is not surprising to see anorexic models on international runways, for example.
:: Any uniqueness in particular? ::
An unconventional face, a lot of charm, a peculiar look… these are some factors that will work in your favor.
:: Personality ::
As a model, you will always work with many people around you, so it is very important that you have an open personality; you must be easy-going, nice, keep an appropriate behavior, confident without being obnoxious. Your personality is also portrayed through your physique and because of this, it becomes a very important aspect in your modeling carrier.
:: Dedication, professionalism and punctuality ::
Don’t be late at a casting call! Nor to the photo set! A lot of people are going to be waiting for you: make-up artists, stylists, the photographer, the art director…
Be organized, keep your agenda up-to-date, and learn: every experience will make you stronger. Do not hesitate in asking, it will show that you care about what you do. Show good will. Modeling is not easy, you will spend long hours having to repeat one picture or keeping a pose. Your dedication will be recognized, and you will be called back!
